Saguna Verma, an Assistant Professor in the Department of Tropical Medicine, Medical Microbiology and Pharmacology, was an invited speaker at the Keystone Symposium, entitled “Innate Immunity: Sensing the Microbes and Damage Signals”, organized by Gabriel Nunez and Akiko Iwasaki, held on March 4-9, 2012 at the Keystone Resort in Keystone, Colorado. Her presentation was entitled “Inflammasome Sensor Apoptosis-Associated Speck-Like Protein Containing a CARD (ASC) Restricts West Nile Virus Infection and Spread to the Central Nervous System”.
