Description: In today’s experimental biology, being able to mine information from large datasets is becoming increasingly important. This interactive workshop aims to provide attendees with the skills required to organize, search and relate large datasets using both, simple command line tools or relational databases. Examples and exercises will be drawn primarily from next-generation sequencing and gene annotations, but use cases from other types of experiments will also be provided. The relational database portion will be taught using the SQLite database, through SQLite Manager graphical user interface.

Attendees are required to bring their own laptops; we can provide one to the first five people that request one by email.
