Rapid Dengue Diagnostics

30 July 2013

A new study of well-characterized serum samples collected from dengue patients in Hawaii, Vietnam, Niue, Singapore and American Samoa has shown that the InBios DENV Detect IgM Capture ELISA outperformed an in-house DENV IgM antibody capture (MAC) ELISA, as judged by sensitivity and specificity of 92% and 94%, respectively. Also, results were obtained in less than 5 hours with the InBios DENV Detect IgM Capture ELISA, compared to the two- to three-day delay with the in-house MAC-ELISA. The study, conducted by Vivek Nerurkar and colleagues, was published in the Journal of Clinical Microbiology.
