Description: This workshop is designed to introduce biologists to the various system applications for executing elementary data-processing operations such as parsing, extracting and formatting various input and output files, without resorting to programming or scripting. The workshop should be of interest to users who work with data files, especially those generated or required by bioinformatics tools, as well as to users desiring to acquire the minimal skills to use the plethora of bioinformatics tools available on the command line.

This introductory workshop does not require any programming, nor command-line experience.
