Description: The past 40 years has seen amazing advancements in flow cytometry technology, as we are seeing instruments capable of 18-color analysis become standard. However, multicolor panel design until now has been optimized largely by trial and error. Based on our current findings with the newest fluorochrome technology, we will share an approach to panel design that enables scientists to unlock the full potential of their research offered by innovations in flow cytometry systems to include: implications of relative fluorochrome brightness in resolving your target populations; significance of antigen density in choosing the appropriate antibody/color combination; managing instrument setup to address spectral overlap and data spread to maximize resolution.
